MILTON-FREEWATER – Dairy Queen of Milton-Freewater has a new owner.
Trevor Moon and his wife, April, have purchased the business at 165 S. Columbia from Greg Petersen, who had been in the Dairy Queen business for 16 years, also owning stores in Enterprise and Pendleton, Moon said.
“We’re happy to be here,” he said.
The Moons, who took over May 1, moved to Milton-Freewater in November from Pocatello, Idaho. He managed three Dairy Queen restaurants there.
Moon said he has been involved with Dairy Queen stores for six years. His wife works in the business and also is a cosmetologist at Great Clips in Walla Walla. They have three full-time employees and 17 part-timers.
The Moons have installed new seats in the business and are planning to add a picnic table, he said.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
