‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ good family film

I had been looking forward to “Cheaper by the Dozen” and I wasn’t disappointed.

Steve Martin is great as a coach and the father of 12 kids. Bonnie Hunt plays the cool mom who may be a bit too cool and gorgeous for 12 kids.

At least two sets of twins make up the brood. The kids do a great job playing the family. One of the kids has red hair and is a little different, so the kids refer to him as “Fed Ex” as in he was really not part of the family. But he actually is the tie, that binds the family together.

Coach gets a fantastic coaching opportunity with the Stallions that means moving the family. Nobody wants to move and they’re pretty vocal about it.

Their new house is huge with a bedroom for almost everyone. The neighbor lady isn’t too sure about the Baker family, but her son, Dillon, loves them, and the scene with him on the chandelier is priceless.

Bonnie’s book, “Cheaper By the Dozen,” takes off and she has to go to New York on a book tour. Coach assures her he can keep everything under control.

The family gets more and more dysfunctional. The kids have new schools with the teachers calling the house. With two big games to practice for the Coach reaches his limit.

The outtakes of the kids at the end were really funny, also. Grab the family and catch the matinee. It’s a great all-around family movie with something for everybody including a message for families sticking together.
