It doesn’t get any cuter than ‘Freaky Friday’

“Freaky Friday,” starring one of the best actresses of our time, Jamie Lee Curtis, and adorable up-and-coming, Lindsay Lohan, was a breath of fresh air for me. This movie simply couldn’t have been any cuter.

Several films have used this same theme, where a stressed parent switches places with their equally stressed teen. In this case, the switching happens when the bickering mother, Tess, and daughter, Anna, break open “magic” fortune cookies given to them by a well-meaning Chinese woman.

It seems like this would be a good lesson for the pair except for one thing. Tess is to be married in less than two days. And unless the two can learn to truly appreciate each other, they can never switch back. All kinds of fun things happen along the way as they try to convince everyone that they are who they are supposed to be and as they learn their much needed lessons.

There was an abundance of humor in this film as well as a great soundtrack. I’d recommend this film to anyone, especially mothers and daughters. It may be a comedy, but it provides valuable insight to being a parent.
