VANCOUVER, Wash. – Hellen B. Boatman, 83, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Milton-Freewater, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at her foster home.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
Mrs. Boatman was born April 22, 1919, at Walla Walla, to Frank and Mary Morrison Worth.
On Dec. 6, 1941, she married William “Bill” Boatman in Couer d’ Alene, Idaho.
She dedicated her life to raising her family and worked 35 years as a supervisor for Birdseye Food Processing in Walla Walla.
Mrs. Boatman enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and traveling.
She attended the First Community Church of God and was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Pythian Sisters and Blue Mountain Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 4567.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Boatman, on Feb. 22, 2002.
She is survived by a son, Eugene Boatman of Olympia, Wash.; daughters, Shirley Grunwald of Vancouver, and Sharon Stuart of Spokane; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. A young son, Bobby Boatman; and all eight of her sisters and brothers preceded her in death.
Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home of Milton-Freewater, is in charge of local arrangements.
