Classes planned in December

PENDLETON – The Pendleton Arts Center will present introductory art classes for high school students and adults Wednesday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec. 21.
Just in time for holiday gift wrapping, a class from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, will teach paper decorating. Roberta Lavadour will instruct the class in making and using a variety of tools to create interesting layered textures. Each student will leave with a cache of decorated papers that have a range of uses.
Tuition for paper decorating is $20 for Arts Council members and $25 for non-members. All will be required to pay a $10 lab fee.
A workshop for beginners will teach the art of making a photograph album. Learn the properties of paper, boards and adhesives as you create durable and interesting photograph albums. Tuition for Arts Council members is $50 and for non-members is $55 with a $10 lab fee. Register by Friday, Dec. 13.
Artistic afternoon activities for kids begin at the Pendleton Arts Center from 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Kids will make and use a variety of simple tools to decorate paper under the instruction of Lavadour. They will take decorated papers with a number of uses home with them. Tuition for arts council members is $20 and for non-members is $25. The lab fee is $10.
Saturday, Dec. 14, David Remington will help youth see the real world better by developing personal discipline and skill. The drawing class will be taught from 1-3 p.m. at the Arts Center. Tuition is $15 for Arts Council members and $20 for non-members. Registration deadline is Saturday.
