HERMISTON – The funeral for George Westfall will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston with burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Umatilla.

Mr. Westfall, 66, of Hermiston, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital in Portland.
He was born Nov. 10, 1935, at London, Ark., to Thomas and Jarusha Beaver Westfall.
At an early age he met and later married the love of his life, Evelyn Tefft.
Mr. Westfall served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his discharge, the couple settled in Portland, where they raised three children of their own and countless surrogate children.
In 1976 they moved to Umatilla and then to Hermiston. Mr. Westfall was employed at the Umatilla Army Depot from which he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn Westfall, in January of this year.

Survivors include his children, George Westfall Jr., of Hermiston, Sheryl Etchison of St. Helens, Bonnie Westfall of Portland and Lee Herman of Hermiston; brothers, Bill Gill of Spokane, and Roy Gill and Tommy Westfall, both of Pasco; sisters, Delores Larson and Mary Samsel, both of Kennewick, Wash.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
