LA GRANDE — Original works for the piano and drums are featured in a concert with Seth Kinzie and Andy Steele.

The performance will involve a medley of contemporary, impressionist compositions, and instrumental arrangements of rock and romantic music. The event is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Art Center at the Old Library, 1006 Penn Ave., La Grande. Admission is $5-$10 and kids are admitted free. Opening the show is Gregory Rawlings and Mike Surber, formerly of Sons of Guns, currently of Foxgloves.

Kinzie of Joseph and Steele of La Grande, who began collaborating in June 2016, were introduced through singer-songwriter Bart Budwig. They both played as session musicians on one of Budwig’s records. They bonded over their passion for expressive, visceral post-rock and a desire to collaborate on a new genre of music within their Eastern Oregon community.
