A Pendleton man reported someone threw a 55-count box of .22 caliber long rifle shells onto his lawn in the 300 block of Northwest Fourth Street. He said he would keep the rounds unless someone reports it.
Not neighborly
A Hermiston man on Forcade Lane called the Umatilla County Sheriffs Office at 11:47 a.m. to report a neighbor had shot and killed his cat.
No harm, no foul, apparently
A man yelled obscenities through a bull horn and fired a gun because of a wedding reception on Burrass Lane in Hermiston. A member of the reception called the Umatilla County Sheriffs Office at 3:56 p.m. to report the disturbance. A deputy responded and talked to the man, who admitted he fired the gun into the ground and agreed not to give the neighbors any further trouble this evening.

Suspicious person report
A Pendleton woman called police at 9:26 a.m. to report a man trying to sell something kept trying to engage her children in conversation. She said the man was younger, tall, had blond hair, was carrying a backpack and dressed in a casual shirt and shorts and had Puma shoes.
She also said the man stated his name was “Madis,” and he had flashed some type of badge, but she couldn’t tell what it was.
Big equipment theft
Umatilla County Sheriffs Office received a report at 9:51 a.m. concerning the theft of earth moving equipment from Lost Springs Lane in Tollgate. A caller told the sheriffs office a $12,000 John Deere skid steer, a 20-foot long tilt trailer and two $300 motors from motorized gates were stolen, probably between Aug. 12 and 17.
Gun theft
A man reported the theft of three handguns from his grandmothers residence on East Punkin Center Road, Hermiston. He also said the suspect is in the Umatilla County Jail.
Odd behavior leads to arrests
A couples suspicious behavior early Saturday caught the attention of an Oregon State Police trooper Saturday and led to their arrests.
OSP reported the trooper at 1:04 a.m. watched a man and woman at the Short Stop service station, 32553 E. Punkin Center Road, Hermiston. The woman got out of a vehicle and went to a portable toilet for 20-30 minutes, OSP reported, while the male twice moved the gray 2004 Pontiac Grand Am for a total distance of about two feet while chain smoking, watching me, and staring at the Porta Potty.
The trooper walked to the man, who said he had marijuana and the woman had arrest warrants. The trooper then searched the car and found a small amount of methamphetamine.
The trooper arrested Jeremy Martin, 32, of Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, and arrested Billie Sexton, 33, of Hermiston, on a warrant.
SUNDAY
Vehicle vandalism
A woman reported her car was vandalized while it was parked at the swimming pool in Athena. She said someone scratched the paint, flattened the tires on the passenger side, broke off the mirrors, dented the car and spray painted the word sex on the car.
More stolen guns
A Pendleton man called police at 8:57 p.m. to report the theft of five guns from his residence on the 300 block of Northeast Anvidon Street.
BUSTED
Friday
Hermiston police arrested Dennis McEarchern, 57, of 309 S.E. Fifth Ave., Battle Ground, Wash., for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Saturday
Hermiston police arrested:
David Milton Watson, 18, 1591 Seventh St., Umatilla, for DUII.
Mateol Rojas Cruz, 47, of 345 S. Main St., Stanfield, for DUII, refusing a breathalyzer test.
Jose Salvador Balderas Rosas, 1105 S. First St., Hermiston, for DUII, hit and run. Police reported his blood alcohol level was .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
Milton-Freewater police arrested Scott Derald Haney, 36, of 53520 W. Frendale Road, Milton-Freewater, for DUII and a warrant.
An OSP trooper arrested Samuel McGraw III, 47, of Pendleton, for DUII (drugs).
Sunday
Milton-Freewater police arrested two people for possession of methamphetamine: Paul Lyle Sheets, 46, transient, and Glenn Walter Key, 55, of 113 S.W. First Ave., Milton-Freewater. Police also arrested Sheets on two warrants.
A Umatilla County sheriffs deputy arrested Amelia V. Cortez, 25, no address provided, for recklessly endangering, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.
Pendleton police arrested Jeremy Ford, 30, of 2700 S.W. Goodwin Ave., Pendleton, for DUII.
Hermiston police arrested:
George Zach Grigsby, 26, of 31140 Follet Lane, Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and third-degree theft;
Raul Solis, 25, of 1105 S. First St., Hermiston, for first-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault, menacing, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a weapon;
Butragueno Rojas Callado, 21, of 360 E. Elm Ave., Hermiston, for felony domestic violence, interfering with making a report;
Clinton Eugene Springer, 29, of 80683 Craig Road, Hermiston, for attempted vehicle theft, breaking into a vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass.
