PENDLETON — The Pendleton School District on Tuesday, Feb. 25, announced its board of directors selected two candidates to interview for their superintendent vacancy. They are Kevin Dinning, the school district’s Human Resources director, and Michelle Jensen, a principal in West Linn.
The district had 12 applicants for the position. The Pendleton School District retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson LLC to assist in conducting the superintendent search. The consultants reviewed, screened and conducted extensive background checks on all applicants, and on Feb. 24 the consultants presented the applicants to the school board and provided members with detailed background information on each applicant.
Dinning and Jensen were selected based on their educational attainment, depth and breadth of experience and alignment to the priorities of the Pendleton School District stakeholder input, according to the announcement.
The school board is interviewing the two candidates on March 10.
Several stakeholder groups will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the board about each of them. The board intends to make their selection by the week of March 17.
