FRIDAY
10:41 p.m. — Police responded to a reported burglary on South First Street, Hermiston.
11:41 a.m. — Oregon State Police found children in Pendleton brought home quail. The mother of the children told OSP that two out of the seven wild birds the children brought home remained alive. State police explained to her why she could not possess the quail and issued her a warning for not having a wildlife holding permit. She brought the quail to Blue Mountain Wildlife, Pendleton, for rehabilitation.
5:47 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a disturbance on the 1000 block of North First Street.
10:41 p.m. — Hermiston police received a report of a burglary on the 1100 block of South First Street. Police responded and took a report.
SATURDAY
3:04 a.m. — Pendleton police received a report of a disturbance on the 1100 block of Southwest Marshall Avenue.
12:11 p.m. — A caller reported a female at Space Age Fuel, Highway 77522 207, Hermiston, claimed a male with a gun was following her, then she departed the business and drove toward Interstate 84 westbound. The caller reported she seemed distraught. Dispatchers advised local and state police.
SUNDAY
12:56 a.m. — Boardman police responded to Port View Apartments, 320 N.E. Columbia Ave., Boardman, on a report of a disturbance. At the scene, the caller reported her significant other kicked out her father for being verbally abusive to her two children and for watching pornography with them. She also reported the male tried “to get physical with them.” Officers took a report.
2:49 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of a disturbance on the 1200 block of Northwest Seventh Street.
MONDAY
2:55 p.m. — Pendleton police responded to a report of a burglary on the 600 block of Southwest Dorion Avenue.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
Friday
The Umatilla Police Department arrested John Canup, 51, on felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree sexual abuse.
Saturday
Oregon State Police arrested Armando Javier Lopez Bermudez, 52, of Milton-Freewater, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Sunday
• The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Pedro Antonio Munoz, 27, for felony fourth-degree assault.
• Pendleton police arrested Larry Frank Monkus, 70, of Pendleton, for misdemeanors of private indecency, reckless driving and for felony fleeing. The arrest took place at Grecian Heights Park.
Monkus in June 2019 pleaded guilty to public indecency and received a sentence of five years probation. MK Counseling of Hood River in March of this year reported Monkus completed sex offender treatment through H&H Treatment Programs of Meridian, Idaho.
• The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Laura Ruth Covely, 43, for second-degree theft, a misdemeanor, and second-degree burglary, a felony.
