Fourth case of COVID-19 identified in Umatilla County

UMATILLA COUNTY — For the second day in a row, the Umatilla County Public Health Department announced a new case of COVID-19 was identified in the county on Thursday, but did not release any information about the individual’s age, sex or where they live. 

“UCo Health takes every precaution to protect an individual’s health information in regards to any reportable disease, and as such, we will not be not releasing any demographic information, including the town in which this individual resides,” the department said in a release.

The release did indicate that the individual is self-isolating at home. It stated that “close contacts” with the person are being contacted.

Thursday’s new case is the fourth identified in the county. The first two cases, who were close contacts of one another, have since recovered. The individual identified with coronavirus on Wednesday was hospitalized. 

According to the health department’s website, 23 more tests were processed on Thursday and 93 total tests have been processed in Umatilla County as of 4 p.m.
