A crash between a semi-truck and a car closed both lanes of Highway 730 on Wednesday afternoon north of Hat Rock near the Washington border.

A head-on collision between a passenger vehicle and a concrete truck has closed Highway 730 near the Oregon/Washington border.

After a 9-1-1 call at 3:31 p.m., emergency crews from Hermiston, Umatilla and Stanfield, as well as Oregon State Police, Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office and the Umatilla Police Department, responded to the scene. Dispatch logs list the wreck location as Milepost 195 on Highway 730.

Highway 730 is closed in both directions.

The female driver of the car had to be extricated from her vehicle and was prepared for transport by Life Flight helicopter. The woman was fully extricated at 4:30 p.m. The driver of the truck did not appear to be injured, and no one had been transported by ambulance as of 5 p.m.

OSP is in charge of the investigation, and this story will be updated as more information is available.
