Gold Wing cycles ride into town

PENDLETON The Gold Wing Road Riders Association will rev things up this week with its Region I Convention/Rally. Organizers expect riders from across its five-state region, including Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Washington and Idaho.

The public is invited to attend some of the activities, including a light show Thursday around 9 p.m. at the Pendleton Convention Center.

Many riders take pride in showing of their Ultimate Touring Machines, said a press release from Mike and Peggy Hudnell, Region I directors. Most of the bikes are customized to the riders tastes with safety chrome custom paint and extra lights.

The Gold Angel Motorcycle Drill Team will perform during the event Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at noon In addition, theyll present a short performance Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Pendleton.

Also, a bike show is planned Saturday at 1 p.m. at the convention center.

The riders will begin arriving Wednesday for the convention, which runs through Saturday. The Hudnells invite the public to stop in and look at their machines and visit with convention attendees.
