A Boardman police officer broke up a gang fight in progress Saturday afternoon.

A bystander at the Shell gas station south of Interstate 84 in Boardman flagged down officer Phil Morris. Five men, all over the age of 18, were fighting in the Shell parking lot next to Main Street.

Lt. Loren Dieter said that when Morris pulled up, three men ran. The other two stayed and Morris questioned them, along with two witnesses who were in a nearby car. Officers later tracked down the two men who ran.

“Basically, none of the parties wanted to press charges as far as assault,” Dieter said. “So we decided that everyone would be cited for disorderly conduct.”

Dieter said two of the men who ran had tattoos that identified them as Tiny Lokos, a subset of the Surenos. The man who ran with them did not have an identifying tattoo, but he also claimed to be a member of the Tiny Lokos, also known as TLS. All three men were from Hermiston, Dieter said.

Of the other two men, one was a known Los Bandilleros gang member from Boardman.

Dieter said the men were punching each other with their fists. None suffered any serious injuries. Officers cited and released all five men.
